Is the Second Half of Sword Art Online 2 Worth Watching
Pretty Decent!
In the year 2022, thousands of people become trapped in a new virtual MMORPG (Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) known as Sword Art Online. Where death ordinarily causes you to respawn to a safe zone, Sword Art Online was reprogrammed to impale anyone who dies in the virtual world. The only way to exit the game, is to defeat the final boss. Eager to escape this virtual nightmare, a lone beta player chosen Kirito fights his way through each floor of the game; however, this lone wolf presently recognizes the need for companionship, and the toll for his liberty. In the end, SAO Season 1 was packed total of mythical virtual excitement, beautiful animation, wonderful orchestral pieces, and intriguing grapheme development. Even if you never watch SAO Season 2, SAO Flavor 1 is a must see for any Anime enthusiast and deserves a solid 10.
Sword Art Online Season 2, brings us back to the mmo virtual world. However, different SAO Flavour 1, the kickoff half of SA0 season two is primarily based on a gunslinger motif known as Gun Gale Online,
In a virtual world comprised of guns and bullets, Kirito, uses a female person avatar whilst duel wielding a violet energy sword and a 5.7mm FN Five 7 handgun. Non long after his experiences in Alfheim Online, Kirito is asked to assist in finding a mysterious player called Death Gun who is targeting the best players in the game, and is some how killing them in the real world.
Though nosotros reunite with some familiar characters in the past, GGO introduces a sexy sniper named Sinon who uses a PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate Two which is a .50 caliber anti-fabric sniper rifle. As awesome as this season has been, it does lack a few of the intense emotional elements that made the first season then astonishing. (Ex: The romance that developed between Kirito and Asuna, or the intense rage Kirito expressed to certain members of Laughing Coffin)
Upon the conclusion of SOA season 2 mid-flavor finale, we are brought back to Alfheim Online where we are reunited with everyone in Kirito's party from SOA flavor 1. Subsequently a brief 4 episodes, the remainder of the SAO season ii focuses on an entirely new guild known as the "the sleeping knights" order. In a desperate endeavour to achieve the unachievable "the sleeping knights" asking Asuna'southward help subsequently assessing her combat skills in a duel confronting their strongest fellow member Yuuki.
Growing upwardly on anime, I have seen my off-white share of classics, but the beautiful atmosphere, the breathtaking music, and the fantastic character evolution has quickly made SAO my favourite anime series. That beingness said, those who were a fan of SAO season 1 will find an almost different temper in SAO season 2. Personally I experience that SAO season 1 was meliorate because the second one-half completely fed off the starting time one-half of the season. Still, SAO flavour two had what appeared to be 4-5 parts. Although this introduces usa to new characters, the plot felt a little scattered as information technology lacked the kind of consistency and the emotional build that was provided by SAO season 1. Overall, the second season of SAO was not fantastic, but I still believe it deserves a 7.

Great first half, unfortunate 2nd half.
Warning: Spoilers
Get-go Half: NO SPOILERS.
Sword Art online is a terrifying but cute story of a boy names Kirito who is stuck in this virtual video game in which no thespian tin can leave until the last boss is defeated. Throughout the game, if one were to exist killed, the histrion would also die in the real world.
In this anime, you never know who is going to die side by side which keeps the viewers constantly on edge. A graphic symbol that might have seemed of import could exist killed at any moment and the fact that those characters actually die in the real globe makes the story even more emotional. The story itself is definitely unique and entertaining. The activeness/fighting is adept and the emotions run loftier in this anime, however, information technology does have a few flaws.
First off, everything feels rushed in the commencement half of this anime. In a world that has 100 floors, you only meet about ten of them. To me, I found it annoying to observe out that the side by side episode he had made it twenty floors higher without any explanation. I empathize that you lot can't prove him fighting on each floor level, only it could have been more gradual than going from (ex.) floor 20 to flooring 47. The first story is completed within 14 episodes and that is it's trouble. They do not requite enough time for the stories to develop fully. You meet new characters in the beginning of an episode and towards the finish of that episode many days have gone by within the anime but truly you've only seen them throughout one episode of twenty minutes, not ii-3 episodes. Then when those (non-so) new characters dice at the cease of the episode where they were showtime introduced, information technology doesn't pack the dial it could accept had those characters been in the anime longer.
Secondly, SAO lacks Graphic symbol depth. After watching 14 episodes of Sword Art Online, you know barely anything about the main characters. They still manage to brand y'all similar and care for them, simply I think that these feelings could accept been amplified had we known more than nigh them.
----------- Now for the 2d half: SPOILERS
The story continues into a new video game in which Kirito enters in order to save his lover Asuna. In this new game if you get killed, you simply respawn. After watching the first half of SAO, this second half right away seems pathetic and childlike. This story focuses on honey instead of survival and in my opinion it should accept never take been made. They really should have but spent the extra episodes on the first story. This would have fixed the two flaws I pointed out: They could have added more character depth and not made the anime feel equally rushed. It's actually a shame, considering this 2d one-half ruins SAO for me.
-------- Finish SPOILER
All in all, I would highly recommend watching the showtime fourteen episodes of SAO but don't even carp watching annihilation past that.

Overhyped merely expert
In the overall anime I think information technology's overhyped. But however I enjoyed information technology though.2&three season was kinda gloomy to me but flavour iv was a beast. Almost of all what I like the nearly in this anime is kirito and asuna'south love story. Everything is good just my chief motivation is kirito x asuna. Y'all should probably requite it a lookout.

Not a masterpiece but worth to watch
I would non call this anime a masterpiece but it really is something. Surely at that place are better anime'south out there. Only if you like game and vr stuff then it'due south totally worth your time. I watched all four season. I didn't like season two&three that much. Only season 4 was a animate being. As the release date is out I am waiting for season 5. Although I think it's overhyped only you can enjoy.

Anime made for RPG gamers.
Well I have to say, this has got to be the hardest anime to review and rate that I accept come across so far. It is one hell of a mixture. Just I did had a great time watching it, was very entertaining and that is what really matters.
On the plus side, I loved the setting/premise, a globe where virtual reality has been perfected and MMORPG's truly come to life. The RPG gamer in me was really happy while watching this anime. DAMN I wanted to exist in SAO so bad. The animation was great, especially that of the action sequences. I loved em. Coupled with amazing soundtrack, they really became epic. Protagonist was very likable and cool. The heroin was hot. :p
Now on the bad side, the anime felt really rushed in the starting time. It really felt like I skipped an episode couple of times. Would have been better if they stretched out the get-go arc into 24 episodes or then, would have been much better. It got a little too much lovey dovey too after on, which was off putting. The side characters were skilful BUT they got very less screen time, way too less. It was similar the anime forgot about them. And and then there was the second arc. Information technology didn't suck as bad as many said it would but all the same information technology was nowhere well-nigh every bit good as the outset arc. Information technology just didn't had the aforementioned feeling every bit the first arc. The setting in it was cool, had a lot of Final fantasy vibe to it. But the love stuff was lame and pointless.
As for the rating, well I would give it similar:
First arc (ane-fourteen episodes) 8.8/10.
Second arc 6.5/10.
Overall, despite its flaws, I somehow still institute it to be very enjoyable and was engaged in it a lot. 8.three/10.

Perhaps the near overrated anime of all fourth dimension.
Alert: Spoilers
Modest Spoilers below. Notation: this review is only based on the original SAO, not the second flavor released in 2014.
The common line which carried SAO to it's popularity was that it was 'a sprawling epic with an inventive concept'
This is simply not the case... while the concept has some fun new twists it's inappreciably original, the 'if you die in the game you die in real life' is almost becoming a cliche, even more so since SAO increased it's popularity.
And while the animation and music are definitely up to snuff in regards to providing an epic and grandiose spectacle, the story and characters are certainly not.
the lead protagonist Kirito is perchance the worst protagonist i've ever seen in any televised series, ludicrously overpowered to the point where he's seemingly able to break established world rules at his leisure with no prior explanation as to how. he also has quite bafflingly... no articulate motivation for the unabridged first half of the series. at that place is simply nothing to him personality-wise either, he'southward cocky, but other than that there's not much there, he was made as plain and simple as possible to serve the purpose of wish-fulfilment. he's not a character, he's a skin for the viewer to habiliment.
as for the story, for the first half it'south at the very least competent if uninspired it's heavily let-downwards by a few filler episodes and corruption of timeskips only it's at least endurable. but for the latter half? every mistake that could have been made WAS made, all tension was thrown out of the window as the consequences for in-game expiry were removed equally was the sense of being trapped in the world. and the mysterious villain of the first half was thrown aside in favour of a new, completely flat, completely unintimidating moron.
In summary, the serial is the closest approximation of a train-wreck that i can imagine, flat characters, schizophrenic pacing, a glut of rather creepy fanservice... the fantastic animation and music are nowhere Well-nigh enough to redeem it.
3/10 is being rather generous...

Over hyped and kind of stupid, but enjoyable nonetheless
Alert: Spoilers
I have mixed feelings well-nigh this show. Information technology has many good things, but information technology also has its fair share of bad things. The first half of the show, I like. It's merely pure amusement, with absolutely nothing else, simply it's watchable and addictive. The animation is great, I dearest seeing the globe of Sword Art Online, the threat of decease creates a lilliputian tension, and watching our two principal characters Kirito and Asuna fall in beloved is sweet and mannerly. The second half I detest. I don't similar the new world Alfheim Online. It never captured my interest the way Sword Art Online did and the threat of decease is gone. The whole arc with Kiritos' sister is unbearably abrasive and I really wish they had just cut that out. Lastly, Asuna, the all powerful Asuna, is reduced to the clichéd damsel in distress, which is stupid, dumb, and makes no sense. All that being said, I still enjoy the show and recommend yous lookout man information technology. There are stupid things and it may not require much brain ability, simply you can take fun with it.

And then much wasted potential
Alert: Spoilers
Sword Art Online was an anime I went in existence very excited for. Being a long time MMO player and anime watcher, an anime nearly an MMO seemed like it would be correct up my ally. How incorrect I was.
The prove revolves around the main character Kirito and his in-game (and afterwards IRL) girlfriend Asuna and their story subsequently they get trapped within an MMO that causes its players to die for real if they die within the game. It seemed similar an interesting concept that was executed in all the incorrect ways.
I was looking forwards to an anime almost the struggles of being trapped inside an MMO world and the quest to level upwardly and trounce the final boss to "escape" the MMO. Yet, instead of focusing on that quest, the series focuses heavily on the romance aspect of the serial. Much of the leveling and dungeoning process is just skipped over in favor of giving the primary male pb Kirito more fourth dimension with 1 of his many lady friends (namely Asuna). At ane point during the show, the series goes mode off runway when Kirito and Asuna decide to become married in game and go have a honeymoon for ii whole episodes (Two whole episodes of this!). I would take rather seen a serial where the leveling and dungeoning process was the main indicate, and the romance was but secondary. Instead, the romance takes upwardly much the the series, and the bodily MMO parts are pushed to the side or only skimmed over. This seems rather contradictory, as i would think the characters would be more focused on leveling and chirapsia the game instead of romancing each other, considering they are trapped there and could potentially die.
However, the virtually glaring problem with this anime is the inconsistency with the 2 main characters. Asuna, the chief female person pb and Kirito's dearest interest, changes multiple times for obviously no reason throughout the first season. She is first portrayed as a strong histrion that is also a loner, and refusing whatever offers to partner upwardly with others. Later, after a timeskip, she is shown once again, merely this time instead as a Tsundre, bossy person that is now in a order for some reason (despite claiming to be a loner). Some time afterwards that, she turns into a doting, pushover, waifu blazon of graphic symbol and remains that way for the balance of the serial. All of these personality changes occur without whatsoever caption or plot chemical element that would explicate a shift in personality.
Notwithstanding, with as bad as Asuna is, the primary grapheme Kirito is 100x worse. He is by far the worst gary stu I've e'er seen in an anime. The series substantially revolves around proving how crawly and special Kirito is. Kirito, similar Asuna, is originally described every bit a loner that prefers to play alone, also known as a "beater" in the game. The serial gets this wrong right off the bat as they tell us he has this personality instead of showing us. This supposed loner personality is constantly contradicted, as but a couple episodes into the bear witness, Kirito joins a guild and is constantly meeting, playing with, and helping other players. A pretty odd thing for a loner to do right? Oddly enough, all of these players he helps are attractive females in revealing armor that all fall in dearest with him for no real reason. After a few episodes of this, I realized that this was in fact a harem anime, non the activity/adventure I originally idea it was.
Instead of showing leveling and dungeoning progression, each episode of this anime either has Kirito wooing some new daughter to add to his harem or romancing Asuna. Among the girls that are in his harem, at that place is also his sister/cousin that has likewise fallen in love with him for some reason. Of course, Kirito ultimately chooses Asuna, since she is the prettiest and nearly powerful daughter in the game. Don't expect to run across many male characters that aren't evil or incredibly peripheral in this series, there's only room for Kirito and his various harem girls.
Kirito always wins his battles through some kind of plot armor, exaggerated to the bespeak where it even breaks the rules of the game at a couple points. He has a special dual wielding ability that no i else has for no other reason aside from the fact that he's special, and also ofttimes uses other abilities that shouldn't fifty-fifty be possible. At no point is there always a fright of him dying or fifty-fifty losing, as you know in that location volition always be some random power up he gets that allows him to win.
And unfortunately, this series and its plot simply get worse as the series progresses. As bad as the first half of the first season was, it just gets worse. After escaping Sword Art Online, afterward arcs portray Kirito and his harem girls in their adventures in other mmos. For one, yous'd recall the characters would be hesitant to play other mmos after their experience in SAO (not much is actually said nearly the people who actually died from the game). But nope, they jump into other mmos without even thinking about it. And these other mmo arcs lose what petty plot suspense the first arc had, every bit they have away the risk of dying that the first mmo arc had.
Ultimately, Sword Art Online is just a harem, fanservice anime with little plot/character evolution or consistency. Everything about it is gimmicky and poorly executed to the bespeak where it has no saving graces (that is, unless you're into the fanservice). There are plenty of good shounen animes out there and this merely isn't one of them. It's highly overrated and doesn't deserve the hype it gets.

Information technology'due south a must-watch
Maybe I'chiliad a sap but I beloved this show. I loved it when I watched it ten years ago and I'yard loving it once again watching it with my daughter this year. Information technology reminds me of all the good times that I had playing WoW and raiding with my club. Information technology's smart, funny, exciting, and thoughtful, as long as you ignore the weird cousin-love affair that crops upwards for a few episodes
(Note that I've merely watched the first two seasons...)

Information technology's the wet dream of the creator. Ultra-powerful hero conquers monsters whilst accumulating a horde of scantily-clad females who are helplessly in honey with him.
Alarm: Spoilers
OK and then offset things I enjoyed.
The first three episodes. Some of the time the blitheness is glorious. Especially in the first episode. When they're showing yous the world of SAO it is fantastic, and some of the fight scenes are not bad. The start three episodes really shows this off.
Episodes that I liked: one, two, 3, 5, 8, 9... that'south it actually.
The main character - whilst probably just the avatar for the creator's wet dream - is actually kind of cool sometimes. I enjoyed his moments of badassery. Asuna (supporting lead) was pretty damn cool when y'all first come across her. She plays the tsudere office pretty well at offset, just towards episode ten or so she increasingly becomes nothing more than the helpless waifu to worry when Kirito is in danger.
And now I offset with the problems in this prove.
This is the basic format for the commencement one-half: ane) Introduce cute female person character. two) Let u.s.a. run into lots of her breasts and other body parts iii) Ideally invent some situation that involves her accidentally showing a bit too much body, and so getting actually embarrassed or angry. 4) Invent random monster for Kirito to fight, female character must be in demand of protection. 5) Have some speech well-nigh love or hope or something half-dozen) Rinse and echo.
At that place's a little chip of a sidetrack with some hentai porn, just that'due south most of the offset half. Then nosotros have a similar situation in the 2nd half, but just with the same female character (Sugu) on echo whilst the supposed 'love' of Kirito is all trapped in a cage being molested so all the creepy people watching tin masturbate.
To illustrate Characters who appear in more than than one episode:
Kirito, male - basically Goku
Sugu, female in honey with Kirito
Asuna in love with Kirito
Lisbeth, f in love with K
Silica, f in dear with K
Alicia, f who hits on K
Sakuya, f who hits on M (lots of fan service)
Klein, thousand
Agil, one thousand
Kuradeel, m
Basicaly nigh of the characters who actually practise things are females and what they do is have their bodies exhibited for the viewer while they're saved past the all powerful Kirito who they so fall in honey with.
I could get on about the grand lists of plot holes, things that don't brand sense, amount of tedious dialog/things that happen and the fact I never once feared for any of the main characters. But that'll simply be waffle. You either enjoy the misogynistic misadventures of kirito with a side of side boob, or yous don't.

Great anime series
So far I've seen the first dozen of episodes. It goes without saying that this anime is very beautiful and with strong memorable characters. I was hesitant at offset to sentinel this because of the video game theme. But it's a very mature show for what is contrary to what it appears to exist in first glance.
Teenage boy Kirito gets stuck in a futuristic MMO game and together with other players in his situation they have to beat the game to be set free or dice in the real globe.
It's not the typical activeness packed anime, although it could turn into another Naruto/Bleach/OnePiece of ridiculously overpowered action heroes, I call up a better clarification so far would be a tragic romantic sci fi bear witness. I can't retrieve when I've seen and so many characters die in an anime in such a short succession.
Anyway don't miss this, I'm glad I didn't. There are very few animes these days that brand me want to meet forward for the side by side episode.

1 of the BEST Anime in 2012
Rohb 2 September 2012
Sword Fine art Online (SAO) Fifty-fifty though the anime is not completed as I write this, I can already come across that this anime volition be ane of the best of 2012.SAO is perfectly paced storyline with many plot twists and surprises it'southward near impossible to get bored.I have no other words to describe this is just simply amazing and you will easily fall in honey with SAO.I can't believe information technology'due south only scoring eight.eight.Information technology's easy 10/x in my books...If yous watch i anime in 2012 I recommend SAO especially if your an MMO player and even more and so if y'all played MMO'south back in the day before they fabricated all of them casual. This anime tells a story from the viewpoint of those kind of games, where things are very challenging, living in some other world is possible in games.

War of Underworld
Alert: Spoilers
Yeah, they just keep doing it! They figure out a new plot that is but equally adept or meliorate than the original. This one has been awesome all the mode through. The only thing I can knock them on is they have dragged out the "Catatonic Kirito" thing too long. He just woke upwardly and it took forever, but one time he did it's similar all was correct with the globe! Which led me to this thought.....
I have watched and then many Anime's. There are several that I tend to lookout man over and over. "The Irregular at Magic High School", "Is It Wrong to Option Upward Girls in a Dungeon?", whatsoever of the "Fate/" series, "Wiseman's Grandchild", "Arifureta", "Chivalry of a Failed Knight" and then on and so on......But let me ask you this, when you lot recollect of all the things Kirito has down and who he is as a character and all he has survived.......Has there ever been a better Hero character? Recollect about it. Nutrient for thought.

Very bad.
Warning: Spoilers
It is genuinely impressive on how many levels this show fails. It has become a reference point for bad writing. This is a story written by someone who has admitted to doing no research beforehand, and made by a visitor decumbent to reusing footage. Information technology fails on so many levels, that its popularity doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Yes, this show was released effectually the time death games got popular, the animation looks slick to the very untrained eye, and a few worthless characters are killed early on to give a sense of danger to the whole thing, simply I tin can't believe that it is withal popular that it has already gotten spinoffs, movies, and other serial. How are people yet watching this mess?
Characters
None of the characters have any actual personalities, specially not the females. Pretty much all of the women onscreen are merely on the show to serve equally a love interest for Kirito or to draw the heart of anyone watching for the attractive anime girls. None of them have whatsoever personality other than some of them having hobbies, and having a hobby does not equate to having a personality. The side characters also don't serve any purposes, other than to propel the "plot." The chief character, Kirito, is mainly just a blank slate considering the writer idea that being the well-nigh overpowered character ever written is a personality.
Plot
The story of the start arc had some potential, but unfortunately is it very poorly executed. None of the characters human activity like gamers. All the characters are very weak. The villain has no motivation. The fights are terrible (just watch them without music, without the amazing soundtrack no-1 would exist defending those fights). There are countless filler episodes and very little plot progression. The game doesn't make sense as a game. In that location are a lot more problems, merely the main affair is that the author tin can simply give exposition in a bar or a cafe. Seriously, if you have seen this, call back back to any fourth dimension y'all heard a clunky speech of poorly-disguised exposition. Chances are, information technology took identify in some kind of a restaurant, which is a pretty lazy way of conveying data to the audience. Besides the villain HAS NO MOTIVATION FOR KILLING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.
At present I'k going to talk more than nearly the Fairy Trip the light fantastic arc. Some of the things I mentioned previously regarding filler, exposition, and fight scenes are likewise here, only the plot has some extra issues. Like incest. There is an incest subplot just thrown in there and the poor writing just makes it gross and uncomfortable. If there was improve writing, if Kirito'southward cousin had a personality outside of wanting to blindside him, and if she grew over the class of the arc as a person, and so information technology could've worked I gauge. Asuna, Kirito's "wife" from the first arc has been reduced from a poorly animated badass to a caged damsel in distress. The villain of this arc has motivations, making the finale slightly less anticlimactic than the outset, merely they make no sense. If you lay out everything that he'south trying to do, and think almost how regime cooperations piece of work, and everything anywhere most his plan, information technology makes no sense every bit to why or how he would do this. There's also an uncomfortable and unnecessary rape scene with tentacle monsters that doesn't make a lot of sense in context and doesn't need to exist there. For some reason Kirito is now friends with a mass-murderer and can walk immediately after being bedridden for 2 years.
There'due south a lot I don't want to become into almost how NOT A GODDAMN THING MAKES SENSE, but this review would just end up even longer and there are plenty of video essays on YouTube that go into more than depth in much more than entertaining manners.
Sights and Sounds
The character designs and settings are ok, I guess. Almost of information technology is pretty generic and bland. Like I said, there is a lot of reused footage and yet panning shots. I wouldn't be as bellyaching every bit the panning shots as they're common in anime, only panning over a frozen image can only exist excused if its an establishing shot, non an excuse for a fight scene. For some reason people defend the fight scenes saying that they're the all-time affair most this evidence, simply if you watch them with out the spectacular soundtrack, they're pretty pathetic. I can't believe that such a talented composer is working on such trash. Or they might not exist anymore, I don't know. The music is even so skillful. The phonation acting is not. I watched this with the English dub, which is terrible. I also watched some of the original Japanese dub, and it really isn't any amend.

Instantly Hooked
With the help of a friend, as well equally Sirlionhart's Permit's Play of Hollow Fragment, Sword Fine art Online became the first Japanese Anime that I got into. Closest things to Anime prior that I watched were Avatar: The Last Airbender (Some don't really consider it anime as its American, simply its based off it) and if you count movies, Spirited Away. Just back on topic.
After my friend showed me game-play of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, I decided to cheque out the series on Netflix and I was instantly hooked. It was humorous at times, very deep and emotional, and really ballsy. The characters are likable, the story is astonishing, the music, score and theme songs, crawly.
I empathize that a lot of people don't like the prove, and I run across the reasons why. I was disappointed when the First Story Arc came to what seemed like a sudden and rather quick end (Which is the reasoning behind me not giving the evidence a perfect 10 score). I honestly wouldn't accept had a problem with different Story Arcs if the get-go season had focused on just one (Much like ABC'due south Once Upon a Time, because I think the Story Arcs were rather adept.
But overall, I am really glad that I got into the prove. It may not be perfect, but I liked it and I really expect forward to Sword Art Online three as well equally the moving-picture show (that is, if they have officially been appear rather than rumored)when they come out.

Sword Fine art Online Ii
Warning: Spoilers
It is time for another series of Sword Art Online and once over again is consists of two main stories. In the first half of the serial Kirito is approached to enter a game called 'Gun Gale Online' to find and identify a character calling himself 'Death Gun'. When he kills another player that person dies in real life; something that is theoretically incommunicable. One time in the game Kirito befriends a girl called Sinon who initially mistakes him for a daughter. She is a sniper in the game despite being traumatised by an incident involving a gun in the real world. As the story progresses they detect themselves confronting 'Expiry Gun' and learn how he is able to actually kill people something that will put Sinon in real danger.
In the second one-half of the series Sinon joins Kirito and his friends in Alfheim Online. They are no longer the main protagonists though; Asuna takes a more than fundamental part as she learns new skills and befriends a girl called Yuuki. Information technology looks like their friendship may end equally Asuna'due south mother believes she is spending far besides much time on line and is threatening to stop her playing any more than, assertive her online friendships aren't real. Every bit it turns out Asuna and Yuuki's friendship is threatened by something far more serious; on line Yuuki may be the all-time swordswoman in the game but in real life she is seriously ill.
Having enjoyed the kickoff series I wasn't sure I wanted more in case information technology wasn't as skilful. Thankfully this serial was enjoyably besides although, at least for the showtime story, is quite different. The Gun Gale world is much darker in tone and appearance than the original worlds and the utilise of guns is quite different even if Kirito continues to apply a sword like weapon. I really enjoyed this story. The second arc didn't grip me as apace; in that location seemed no real danger equally the group took on new bosses and gained skills; so, with the introduction of Yuuki, things become more emotional leading to a tear-jerking conclusion. Overall I'd say if you enjoyed the offset series you should enjoy this too.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English language subtitles.

Exciting from the start, just kinda lost the magic by time
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this anime. I binge watched both seasons in 2 days. To start off with the starting time season, that was the one i enjoyed the nearly. I looked forward to the next episode every fourth dimension. The concept was heady and had lovable characters. On the downside, i thought the time jumps were a flake besides much. I like that it was fast paced, but to jump many months betwixt and in episodes was a scrap too much according to me. You lot hardly got to see how they settled in to the life style of being in a video game. Information technology was only like BAM, anybody is a pro at this and we didn't get to encounter them grow into that. Information technology's also a bit sad that Asuna started off equally a mysterious badass and turned into a weak girly girl.
Onto the second season. I enjoyed information technology, but i never got the same thrill every bit i did with the first season. I'm even so torn how i feel near the whole fairy theme. Did i accept it or was it too different from the first part? I'one thousand not sure. The villain was likewise over the top stereotypical. I cringed every fourth dimension he laughed. Likewise, the main excitement with the first season was the seriousness of life and death. If you lot die, that's information technology. By taking that office away for the second part, information technology lost a huge thrill. I felt a bit similar, okay, you lot die, then but endeavor again and once again until you succeed. You don't really have anything to worry nigh. And don't even become me started on the sister. I didn't like the whole incest thing. They should've just got her and her male friend together instead. Made a stereotypical, impuissant, awkward, immature romance. That would've been much meliorate.
Really, i wish they would've made both seasons nearly the commencement game. They could've made that get on forever. They could've shown every single level of the game. Come up with a bunch of cool monsters and characters to impale off. But overall, i actually did enjoy this show. I'thou excited for side by side flavor, but i'm not keeping my hopes upwardly too loftier.

Honestly, not that bad
This is an okay anime series. Why exercise people detest it so much?
Information technology is because of the supposed "sexism"? (Lol, as if the otaku oversupply has always cared that much about sexism) or because the master character supposedly is a "Mary Sue/Gary Stu/Marty Stu/Whatever"? A lot of protagonists in shonen anime are bigger Mary Sues yet people honey them. But enquire Akira Toriyama.

Wow, just amazing.
This anime is Astonishing. Sentinel it now. I can't even explicate this... Sword Art Online is ridiculously well made, so far. A lot of anime have a good beginning but end horribly but this anime has an incredible first and just time will tell of the end. However, I believe that this anime will finish very well. I don't want to reveal much about the show but the principal character Kirito is awesome... Just become watch this show. Now. Yous wont regret it trust me. I don't know if I'll exist able to survive waiting a week for each episode. All I have been doing so far is praising the show but I'm dead serious the characters are crawly, plot is awesome, the idea of the show is very interesting besides. I HIGHLY recommend this evidence and I know this isn't the most detailed and persuading mail service (I don't wanna spoil anything), at least I don't call back it is but this is a very adept show. You will get hooked from episode i, I promise. My brother and I aren't crazy anime fans, we probably are now because of this evidence but he saw someone mail service on a website that an amazing new testify is going on air and well, he was right.

Amazing
Warning: Spoilers
Based on the full general public they take rated it as 7.7 out of 10 which is a reasonable number but if I was proper critic I would reconsider to change the number based on my opinion which I have rated as a 10, i take gave information technology this rating because it has to be the greatest anime I have watched in my xvi year existence The characters to the story, the atmosphere is then good it's seems real at sometimes and at the cease of season 2 information technology had me wondering why cease in that location but anyway the story is about a 16 yr onetime child called kazuto kiragaya but likewise known for his online persona kirito And there has been a new game released to the public in 2022 and it's called sword art online which is as well the main championship and it's a vrmmorpg and it's for a device called the nervegear which was designed and produced past akihiko kayaba and he is besides the creator of sword art online as well and anybody was trapped in the game for over two year and in those two years kirito met a girl called asuna and sooner or subsequently they became married in the game and also had a trivial cottage on floor 22 past a lake and they was wondering around the woods and that's when they met there adopted daughter chosen yui they constitute her there passed out and took her home equally soon as she woke upwards she couldn't remember annihilation merely information technology'southward turns out she was just a artificial intelligence plan which made the story move thrilling as it is simply eventually they had to render to the front lines and clear the game and information technology's turns out commander heathcliff is actually akihiko kayaba and he is the dominate on floor 100 in the cherry palace so kirito took him down simply in the last 2d asuna saved kirito but at the cost of her own life but for anybody doesn't know she is alive And kayaba is not the true dominate on flooring 100 the boss is called Incarnation of the Radius only that'south for an other time but basically if you lot accept non watched it yet give information technology a shot and scout it you tin watch information technology in English or japanese your choice just I reviewed this in English cause I don't empathize japanese to skilful and I know people are going to avoid watching it because kirito is voiced Bryce papenbrook but I don't understand why people hate him he is a pretty good phonation actor he plays rin in blue Exorcist but anyhow go spotter it and the merely reason kirito and asuna didn't for is considering considering the system, Cardinal, was designed that way. That's why they have the resurrection particular similar Disgaea mentioned. There is a delay before the thespian is killed in the real world, following his avatar's death. ... At present, the same can be said well-nigh Kirito killing Kayaba.
Season two A year after escaping Sword Art Online, Kazuto Kirigaya has been settling back into the real world. All the same, his peace is short-lived as a new incident occurs in a game called Gun Gale Online, where a player by the name of Expiry Gun appears to exist killing people in the real world by shooting them in-game. Approached by officials to assist in investigating the murders, Kazuto assumes his persona of Kirito once again and logs into Gun Gale Online, intent on stopping the killer. Overall this flavour is more than thrilling compared to season ane, The 2d season begins with a new virtual reality MMORPG called Gun Gale Online. Rumors are circulating about a person named Death Gun who can fire a bullet in the game that will also kill people in existent life. Kirito, the protagonist of the final season, starts working with the Ministry of Internal Diplomacy to investigate whether such a thing is possible. This arc starts off as a mystery, but it suffers from pacing problems that make it difficult to keep an invested interest. The deuteragonist, Sinon, is an avid Gun Gale Online player. She'southward a well-known sniper in the game, and she fifty-fifty plans on competing in a competition with the silliest name imaginable (Bullet of Bullets). Kirito and Sinon end upwardly working together as Sinon helps Kirito notice Decease Gun, and Kirito helps Sinon through her fears.
When Sinon was a immature daughter, a human being barged into the post office and aimed a gun at her mother. Sinon managed to accept the gun from him and shot him. Because of this result, Sinon is terrified of guns and is playing Gun Gale Online equally immersion therapy to conquer her fears. Sinon's stress triggers whenever she comes into shut contact with guns or realistic replicas. At first, this seems like a well done representation of a trigger - Sinon panics when she tries to concur the gun replica she keeps in her desk at home. Her animate becomes labored and she can only remember how terrified she felt the time she held a gun and killed someone. It's surprisingly dark for Sword Art Online, and the bear witness would have pulled it off had it non done it in such an overdramatic mode. The over the top, highly saturated red in the background and an unreasonable amount of claret flowing across the floor distract from the terror Sinon feels.

How does this get such a good reputation
I finished the first two seasons at present and I'g actually wondering how this show got its practiced reputation in the anime scene. I mean the first six or and so episodes were entertaining and I was curious how it all plays out but every bit before long every bit they leave the soa game the show just got stuck into a ho-hum love story and doesn't really seem to get out of it at all. The fights are mediocre and the characters are very linear and flat written. The earth building doesn't really exist after the first few episodes and the story overall just isn't really exciting I feel like. I probably won't sentry the side by side seasons since my expectations aren't really that high.
